Maybe you've heard of on-site generation technology and you've been wondering what all the fuss is about. On-site generation is a technology that allows consumers to generate cleaners, disinfectants, and sanitizers on premise and as needed. These products are eco-friendly and non-toxic, making them a much better choice for people and the planet. GenEon's sanitizers and disinfectants are capable of killing 99.999% of the germs and bacteria we come into contact with on a regular basis, including the cold and flu virus, E.coli, MRSA and norovirus. The best part is, it does all of this without any chemical residue, harmful fumes, or high VOCs.

Cost and Storage Benefits of On-Site Generation

Besides the eco-friendly aspect of GenEon's on site-generated sanitizers, there are other benefits. Since on-site generation means making your sanitizing products as you need them, you don't need to worry about the storage of chemical-based sanitizing products like you do when you are buying and storing cleaning supplies from other sources. This is especially important for schools, hospitals, and big businesses where huge quantities of commercial cleaning and sanitizing products are regularly kept on hand, often in many locations throughout a building. Storing so many chemical-based cleaning products consumes a lot of space and can be a health hazard on many levels. In schools, for instance, leaving janitorial areas unattended or unlocked poses the threat of students accessing the potentially harmful products.

There's also the cost savings on-site generation provides. First, there's savings in the payroll because sanitizing using on-site generation reduces the cost of labor by reducing the time it takes to complete the same tasks using traditional cleaning methods. This means you will budget less hours for janitorial jobs, or you can put the hours you save to use on other projects that need to be accomplished.

Another factor when it comes to savings is the money spent on commercial cleaning products throughout the year. Because on-site generation allows you to make only the product you need for each job, you have far less waste. There is less waste of the water used for cleaning and the cost of GenEon's on-site generated products are pennies on the dollar compared to traditional store-bought cleaning products. In fact, according to a study done by the Georgia Institute of Technology, a recognized leader in sustainability research, their own testing revealed substantial savings with on-site generated ECA. The study concluded that using on-site generation for cleaning and sanitizing is by far the "best and most cost-effective way to clean their entire campus. The study estimated the university "reduced their use of chemical cleaners by over 90%" and provided savings of over $300,000 a year in cleaning costs.

How does ECA Work?

GenEon is the leader in on-site generation using natural minerals, water, and electricity. Our on-site generation technology produces safe cleaners and non-toxic sanitizers and disinfectants. The process, known as electrochemical activation (ECA), creates products that are sustainable and safe for the environment. It works like this: GenEon uses salt as a catalyst. Salt is a compound made of sodium and chloride. During the process, the sodium ions are positively charged and the chloride ions are negatively charged. Our on-site generators expose these ions to a low electrical charge. The positive side of the charge electrochemically converts the chloride ion (Cl) to hypochlorous acid (HOCl), which is a powerful sanitizer. The negative side electrochemically converts the sodium ion (Na) into sodium hydroxide (NaOH), a cleaning compound commonly found in soaps and detergents. GenEon's uses a Blended Stream System that uses both versions in the same solution. The hypochlorous solution is represented as Free Available Chlorine (FAC) that has 80-200 times the sanitizing power of chlorine bleach. Since it is produced at a near neutral pH, it doesn't bleach out furniture or clothes.

At GenEon, we make it our business to help you save money while keeping those around you safe and protecting the environment. In addition to our eco-friendly cost-saving sanitizing and disinfecting products, we have designed advanced systems for delivering our products anywhere. Whether you need to clean large, open spaces or get to those hard-to-reach places, our Mist delivery system ensures that you can evenly distribute our cleaning and sanitizing products for effective coverage. The Mist delivery system is perfect for hospitals, schools, malls, and other public or commercial settings where germs and bacteria are found.

We also offer a range of on-site generation technology. The Instaflow is compact yet ideal for making high volumes of cleaning and sanitizing products on demand. For a more portable option or smaller facilities, we have the Immersa-A-Clean Wand. There's no better, safer way to clean and sanitize than with the combination of our eco-friendly products, our ECA technology, and our advanced delivery systems.
